A Teaser

Some explanation is critical to the posting of this poem.  I've been working on a novel for the past few weeks.  This poem is part of the story, and it's written from the perspective of an awkward red-head named Jake Lovechild.  Now that that's out of the way. . . .

Falling For Autumn

Autumn, girl, I fell for you
even though it's summer
so don't be cold just 'cause I'm green-
for that would be a bummer.
I'm the dude that's right for you
I don't mind if you give me lip-
As long as you promise to let me taste
The honey with which it drips!
