So many
        so lonely

perched in public
    earbuds in

dressed to the tens

      paperback
  in the right hand
cigarette 

    in the other
silently
     begging

        to be noticed

but not realized

     by another person

just as perfectly
     flawed

and brilliantly
     refined.
